The 2019-2020 MotherFucking Season Thread

Yup. we have to hear him say what Dubas is doing wrong everytime he's on tv.

"Trade Nylander"...which thankfully he's backed off on, is even more hilarious. He sold the farm for a softer, lesser defensively, similarly offensive talented forward as his first major order of business in Toronto. I mean, if you love Phil Kessel but think that William Nylander is soft and overpaid, you just dislike pretty Swedes.

Having a hand in building a crappy Leafs team is sorta like a media prerequisite - Poulin, Button, Burke, JFJ - all have gone on TV as "experts" after their teams crashed and burned.

He also guasranteed on tv Nylander was traded by the draft because his contract was so bad (June, 2019 draft).

And yeah, having him rip a drafted Leaf for making 6.9 when he made the Kessel deal is really weird.

BTW, Damien Cox has STILL stopped tweeting since Keefe took over. He boxed himself in a terribl;e corner and now can't say anything. He use to tweet daily. Nothing on the Leafs in weeks.

That or being a plug, yeah. Watching Louis Debrusk, of all fucking people, rattle on about the importance of heart and physicality before the Edmonton-Calgary game last night was nauseating. What the fuck do you expect the guy to say? This guys scraped out an 11 yr NHL career as a fringe face puncher, he's not going to come out talking about the importance of keeping your emotions in check, make the other guy play dumb and capitalize on the powerplay, beat them on the scoreboard, etc.

The only silver lining for me is that tomorrow's "plugs" that inevitably get media jobs are going to be the Timashov types. Small, fast, just not talented enough to be a top 6/9 forward. The era of the face punchers is largely over and they're an endangered species.

Johnson should have a prime time spot breaking down plays and how they are executed

Such a waste of talent having him on TSN 1050 making Petrillo and Dreger look like idiots

unfollowed that clown awhile back. I guess he hasn’t changes much. His takes were beyond awful

He could at least be a man and tweet about the Leafs now. He could not shut up about the "Mess" Dubas made after they fired Babcock. Hiding when he's proven wrong makes him look really bad.

He's a good ol scarborough boy. I remember going to a gym at Markham and the 401 and he went there every once and a while. Never bothered him but it was pretty cool.

Every once and a while though he will fall into the media bias,,, he talked a bit of shiite about Matthews and Nylander in the past as well.

Two month stretch of terrible numbers from your starter is a massive problem.

How can you have any confidence in him at this point to put together a good enough run to go deep

Over that 24 game stretch we averaged 8.7 HDCA while league average is 8.45 so its not like we have given up a ton of high danger volume to justify the terrible numbers
