The 2019-2020 MotherFucking Season Thread

Well, he's also got 2 goals and 4pts in the last 4games.

So the Clifford effect only kicked in against Pittsburgh? He scored that goal against Pittsburgh before he got into the fight, do we credit Clifford with that or not?

My point is that we've seen Kappy play inspired hockey before, and for longer stretches than this. That he's chucked knuckles twice over this particular mini hot streak doesn't make it about someone else.

He's been playing more like Hyman.

Last 4 games: 2.5 g/60 (1st), 5 p/60 (1st), 60.63 CF% (1st on Leafs) 57.68 xGF% (6th),

He's been unreal when it was gut check time. Which is huge. Timing has nothing to do with Clifford acquisition though.

But....and follow me for a second, this might sound crazy....what the **** does fighting twice in a week have to do with "his game"?

Think of it more like a sign that he is playing with more confidence and heart.

I get that those things are hard to look up, but hockey is an emotional game and..... follow me for a second, this might sound crazy but.... those things actually matter.

But why did they take 8 games to matter? If we're attributing this to Clifford and all...

I'm not disputing that he's playing better. I'm disputing why he's playing better. We need to isolate the last 4 games of 12 since Clifford got here, and give Clifford the credit for just the last 4, while ignoring the 8 previous. It's silly bullshit.

Don’t worry.... I’m sure he isn’t giving Clifford all the credit.

Tough guys often make everyone else around them feel just a bit bigger..... I’m sure that’s all that’s going on here.

eh, just because the effect wasn't instantaneous doesn't mean it's not there. it's not like it would be a conscious decisions like "oh now I can fight", it might just be a feeling that grows on you.

or, could be all bullshit.

that doesnt make what I said any less true hence why I called it a flaw.

He didnt know when to pick his spots and let his emotions get the best of his better judgement

6-3-1 (107 point pace)

We're gonna win the next four, and then lose one of the TB and NSH games, probably TB.

But the way we're playing with this hunger right now, nobody can beat us. Even with Rielly, Muzzin, Mikheyev, Johnsson, Ceci out, we're still really good. As long as they play like this. When those guys (other than Johnsson) come back, watch out.

Taking the next 4 thru the Cali roadie gets us back to a 100pt pace and into the top-10.

then we come back home and hit the home stretch over the last 13 games, which has all sorts of playoff implications and should be a ton of fun.

more fun if some of the wounded start returning.
