The 2019-2020 MotherFucking Season Thread

Gauthier is the weakest forward on the roster. He doesn't use his size so it's not really any loss.

I say this despite Engvall falling off the map the last 30 games..think Giraffe still has something to give offensively.

This long pause makes the case for Spezza over Goat even more. Giggles was actually playing pretty great for us in his role. I think having him rested as a fourth liner could be a secret weapon for us this playoff.

Yeah i go back and forth on it. I do think spezza is "better" but I also think he's a liability defensively. And I think freddy has received far tougher zone deployment this year than spezza which may shade our perceptions of them a bit.

Well engvall wasn't great at C but in a strict 4th line role I'd feel safer with him at C over spezza too.

honestly I wouldn't mind any mixup to the bottom 6. they've let us down this season, the big guys had to really carry things.

really looking forward to Robertson hopefully giving us a scoring spark from a line that doesn't have a superelite centre on it.

That reminds me of some stats i wanted to run....

I think maybe we forget that the 3rd line was very unimpressive last year too. Maybe even worse when considering defense/possession.

And yeah I would absolutely move hyman back with tavares a d marner. They need his help at even strength, matthews and nylander do not.

So you're saying goaltending matters? Who knew?

Many seasons have been crushed by shoddy backups.

there's a bunch of implications there as to the growth curve of these matthews leafs, really.

My only player concerns.... Anderson, Dermott and kerfoot.

And the NHL calling the game like a regular season game and not letting the hooking, holding, after whistle crap they seem to deviate to each playoff season ..... wtf.

Chara and the likes are allowed to turn into Bart the bear and maul anyone within their reach.

Players leaving their feet to throw hits and the refs turn their heads and say it is good old fashioned playoff hockey.

Call the bloody rules!

If Anderson can play like 20 game mark Freddie???
If kerfoot can show something .... Anything????
And Dermot gets the fog out ....
Leafs in 3.

And I relish the thought of Toronto playing the Bruins again ..... Toronto in 5. Guaranteed!

The only team on the east that should pose a real problem for the leafs is Tampa ......

And when the leafs make it to the finals, I can only see Colorado as the team who is probably capable of beating the leafs with their talent. And that is even a coin toss.

They can keep their first overall pick, I want a Stanley Cup.

Mario junior will carry the team to the cup.

Would love to see the leafs and Habs in the conference finals .....

on one hand it' nice to have a fully rested freddy for the first time. on the other hand, he'll have months off and he's usually terrible in the first month of the season.
this is it for freddy. he has to come through or there's no new contract.

Unbanned at HFdorbs I got in some fights that forced me to discover something imo amazing about the whole Lou vs Dubas leafs nation hatefest....

"These are all the additions that Lou made in his 3yrs here that were still under team control when Dubas took over:

1. A.Matthews: 21, Final ELC year
2. F.Andersen: 29, $5.00m x 3yrs (NTC)
3. R.Hainsey: 37, $3.00m x 1yrs (NTC, 35+ age contract)
4 P.Marleau: 39, $6.25m x 2yrs (NMC, 35+ age contract)
5. N.Zaitsev: 27, $4.50m x 6yrs (NTC)

Top Prospects:

1. T.Liljegren
2. C.Grundstrom
3. I.Scott
4. J.Woll
5. Y.Korshkov

That's it. That is the entirety of what Lou added to the organization that was still here when he left. One outstanding piece that was no brainer 1st overall pick. One good goalie. One decent old dman. Two horrendous untradeable contracts. And one good prospect."
