I agree. I like the Habs in that series.

Only thing is the Pens have been so injured it's hard to tell exactly what they are. And their goaltending is looking pretty damn shaky.

Babs is a dinosaur but there are enough left still that think like him. he'll be back.

The biggest hurdle to Babs returning is $$$$. He'll need a similar deal he got with the Leafs to forgo that money he's guaranteed to sit on his ass. And I'm not sure anyone giving him a huge deal. The big $ Q got has been a complete bust in Florida.
Those big $ deals to coaches maybe short lived.
IMO< he coaches again, but it'll take awhile. He won't be hired quickly.

I’m pretty sure that the way it usually works with fired coaches is that they don’t give up their existing deal when they get a new job.

If there’s any gap between their new salary and their salary on what’s left of their old deal, their old team would have to make up the difference.

And of course, Babs was so highly sought-after when we hired him that he might have made sure that the whole deal was guaranteed no matter what.

Florida, leafs, pens and rangers I think will come out of the round robin.
Leafs are my cup pick and I hope they play the Bruins..... Leafs in 5 .....

It is possible the leafs could have to play the Flyers and caps to get to the conference finals lol.
The Hockey world would be screaming the fix is in lol

spezza signing was one of the very best of any player last year if you look at stats and cap hit. i always get amused with the non-stop talk of marner or matthews being overpaid by a million or so and people ignore a signing like spezza for nhl minimum and what other gms pay for 4th liners.

yeah it's the type of thing we're going to need more of, so long as we're carrying multiple 8 figure deals that is. hopefully he can do it again for next season...don't be surprised if he can't, of course. at that age the dropoff tends to happen quickly.
