Yup. What's terribly underrated is our record given how bad the goaltending was an injuries with Keefe.and a reminder, even with Freddy struggling this year, we were still a ~103pt pace team with him in net.

Seems the player, coach and executive didn't give much of a crap about any of that.
maybe it was a Western org that doesn't play them often.
Engvall should have a spot over goat

I wonder if he came in a little lackadaisical. Seems weird he's on the outside given he's arguably been better than any of those 4th liners this year and is a good PKer.
Yep. Especially since he’s spent some time at center too, and you’d also have Spezza on that line.
I dunno. Except for a brief stretch not too long after Keefe took over, Goat’s had an ironclad hold on a regular roster spot.
I think Keefe & Dubas both have as much of a soft spot for Goat as Babcock did.
I agree with everything Zeke is saying, but I've also come to grips with the fact that the media is incapable of anything other than trolling Leaf fans. That's their entire purpose in life, to get a rise out of us. I've checked out. Give me hockey back. I'm not interested about the opinions of people I wouldn't hire to shovel my snow.
It's about fucking time, man. I've never seen a fanbase so pre-occupied with their team's media coverage.
Mainstream sports media (like their counterparts in other fields like business) are a lagging indicator. They tell you what happened last year or last week. Full stop. Their job is a a lot easier if they repeat as many old cliches as they can.
So the Leafs right now are "a fine collection of individual stars who don't do the little things needed to win", "they are soft", "unproven in the playoffs" "not committed to playing team defense"
As soon as they win a Cup (or make the Final) all those jargon phrases will be replaced by "came of age", "showed their hunger/focus/ commitment", "well coached and the players finally bought in", "Matthews finally become a leader" "great chemistry"
