The 2019-2020 MotherFucking Season Thread

Well I'm speaking for my man zeke mostly. But in fairness I'm sure he more than acknowledges that drai is a top 5-10 nhl forward like he did with kessel at times. He's a homer but he ain't a dummy.

Phil finished top 10 in goals and points 3yrs running for us and couldn't even crack top-25 lists.

Isn't Hyman on the first line a Babcock invention? He deserves a ring if you win it all.

clearly they've correctly identified Gauthier as the weakest player on the roster. Robertson is a million times better as we will see.

Very pleased to see Gauthier get bumped. Putting Engvall and Spezza on the fourth line is precisely what I'd hoped to see. If Robertson struggles, they can slide in Petan or Malgin easily enough.

you can make a flimsy case that Draisaitl slightly exceeded his most optimistic projections, but that happens quite often, and is no way comparable to the Brad Marchand story.

gioradano is a interesting case as well even though he really only how one super duper elite year
from a canadian kid going to the KHL at 24ish to having a career year at 35

I saw him play peewee in AAA. Way too small and slow and was in way over his head. Played A mostly after that. Had a summer where he grew 6 inches and that was that. Became a new player and eventually grew into his body. He's a rare case because he didn't play much competitive hockey growing up. Single A hockey pretty much entirely after peewee. That's one of a kind shit.

I still don't like Engvall at C and feel he's wasted on the 4th line. He should be on Kerfoot's wing, Spezza should be 4C, and Robertson should be on the 4th line to start.

I'm not a big fan of him regardless of the position. But as things stand, if he's going to be in the lineup, I'd put him at 4C so that Engvall can play higher and on the wing where he's a force. And Robertson can stay in the lineup. If you put Spezza on the wing, Robertson probably doesn't play.
