The 2019-2020 MotherFucking Season Thread

Waking up at six AM and going to a cold rink, riding the bus from London ON - he knows what sacrifice is!

Should just be focusing on putting up 100 points and playing a good all around game. That will solve all his rep issues - game 1 didn’t help his cause

Yep. Just shutting his yap and playing good hockey would definitely be the thing for Mitch to do right now.

I mean, even just one good opening game certainly did wonders to change the conversation around Auston Matthews.

Seems Babcock liked what he saw from the 4th line, but plans to continue the Petan/Spezza - Timashov/Shore rotation.

I'm fine with a rotation. If you're keeping these bodies around you may as well use them. If they aren't good enough to rotate in and out, then replace them with someone else in the organization who can. We have so much depth, everywhere. No passengers this year please. If you can't trust him to not be in the pressbox, get rid of him.

How does freddy the goat warrant full time status ...... fuxk I would rather the leafs carry a ryan reeves than gauthier

Take that back.

As for goat...hes been legit good to start the year. I'm not upset about this yet.

Yep, it looks like Freddy's game has improved. Time will tell but he's been decent thus far.

Yeah, I'm not sold that this is permanent. But when you take a huge kid that made it through the Q with hockey as somewhere around his 3rd or 4th priority in life, get him the pros, teach him how to skate and maybe help him find a passion for the game (and the motor that goes with it), I might be prone to believe that there is some untapped potential in there.

I wasn't happy in the pre-season when it appeared that Gauthier had an inside track on a job in our starting lineup. But I can't complain about how he's looked so far this season. He's been playing physical, looks quick out there and hasn't been getting filled-in at five-on-five.

That said, it's only been two games so far and neither was against a good team, so we'll see how he holds up over the long haul

And it is amusingly Babcockian that out of the five guys currently on the roster who are competing for spots on the fourth line, plus 2-3 other guys down on the farm with NHL experience (Agostino, Aberg, Wilson), Goat's the only one with a guaranteed spot in the lineup.

As for Reaves, we can't afford $2M+ for fourth line guys right now. We shipped out Connor Brown this past summer for that very reason.

Babcock is playing Ceci against the opponents top lines? Interesting.
Yeah that shit cant last for long. There were a bucket of sens fans on Twitter last night playing the "told you so" game. Ceci probably isnt very good at all. Probably not as dreadful as he looked for the sens, but not good enough to run with rielly either.
