They don't have to yet since Leivo's hurt but Brown seems like the likely choice, no waivers needed.

And at a certain point we should probably start believing this FO when they say things. They're not signing Prust.
 
Babs said Leivo should be back in the lineup (off IR, I presume) tomorrow ...

And Leivo did play in one of the last 3 games I remember, so he can't be THAT bad

Also appears Josh Leivo won't be on #leafs roster. Possible he's designated non-roster and on waivers tomorrow. No official confirmation.


Griffith for Leivo. High upside, low floor for low upside, high floor. Meh. Leivo has proved that he is an NHL player IMO but it's not a huge loss. I don't think Seth will amount to anything but this isn't the worst thing in the world. They have several Leivo's in their system. Just hurts to lose an NHLer for free - it's going to happen often in the coming years if they don't clear shit up.

It sounds like he just missed the news that Leivo is hurt.
 
Now this is all speculation, but personally I think Leivo came to camp fat again. He's the one guy that Babs hasn't said much about all camp and has barely gotten into any games. We know he had the fitness issue in the past, so it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case again.

Last Thursday, Babcock said he doesn't think he's had much of a chance to evaluate Leivo because he's been hurt most of camp.
 
FWIW, Babcock said today that Andersen 100% had rust to shake off since he didn't get to play much because of his injury. Said it's one position they're pretty comfortable with.

I remember that. During that same interview he said something like "is it his fault? maybe my fault?"..I thought that was strange to say. Does it not basically mean that he might be out of shape and the reason why he got hurt? That's how i took that..Which then would make sense why they may not be that high on him(and Preston did mention he came to camp out of shape before as well).
