Will be interesting to see if that was the plan. Hope so, because Kallgren’s earned the demotion and with his start to the AHL season, Petruzzelli’s earned the chance to jump past him on the depth chart.

Also pretty clear that Woll can’t be counted on at all between the frequent injuries and poor play, so need another goalie under contract anyway.

Good on dubas for admitting his mistake and acting early. Cup winning, productive 4th liner label is still there after just 6 games with the leafs. It he waited too long I'm not sure he gets claimed. And he was never worth "waiting" for to turn his game around. Replaceable 4th liners are just not worth being patient over.

If all we need is a functioning body for the 4th line, we have plenty. Simmonds, Holmberg, Steeves, Malgin, ZAR, McMann, Anderson, Gaudette, maybe even Dougie.

6 games is tons of time to not suck shit in if you're a fringe guy. That's just life as a 4th liner.

The good news is that doesn't say anything about Sammy. They need a goalie tommorrow and a 3rd goalie in general. Murray has to stay out a while longer even if he's healthy.
