Yeah. Surprising for sure. Jones is giving them competent goaltending but there are players having career years like Burakowsky and Terry. Not complaining mind you, perfectly fine with them being good this particular season.

There are just so many reporters that should be dragged regularly for their terrible Nylander takes over the years.

Been very good since the moment he first stepped in the league, and now he’s the stud most of us knew he could be.

As for Kapanen…while it was always obvious to anyone with a functioning brain he wasn’t on Nylander’s level, I’m honestly surprised he’s this bad.

I thought his floor was going to be as a speedster, plus 3rd liner that’d pop in 15-20 goals for you.
 
He’s not that bad. He needs a change of scenery. He’s always been an emotional kind of guy from all appearances, so he must hate being there right now.
 
Empty calorie player. Was only really useful on broken plays where he could use his speed, not unlike grabner. He was more toolsy than grabner but at least grabner cared a bit more about the defensive side of things.. Kappy was a cheater. And not built for sustaining possession in the ozone; he was brutal on the cycle. Very very limited player and super one dimensional.

But he often came up big in big moments because he was very opportunistic and a specialist at capitalizing on broken plays or mistakes. That's about where his strengths end.

Look back at the names of the Ds mentioned by said analysts..Jesus. They wanted Dubas to give away Nylander at age 22 when his value was it's lowest.
