The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

Having said that, looking at their stats, sheesh.

Tarasenko only with 7 goals so far, O'Rielly with 9. Tarasenko with 20 points in 25. O'Rielly with only 14 in 27. And O'Rielly with a -19! They have some minus superstars right now - Kyrou -21, Krug -22. That paces out to some scary stuff over 82.
 
Binnington is both a bad goalie, and a total dumbass. They made a huge mistake keeping him over Husso, although it may just be because nobody wants to take on that contract.

They have an excellent forward group, but a questionable D corps. They could still figure it out, but have got to get some goaltending to have a chance of finding out.

Kallgren: .898

I know we should just sit back and enjoy it but after this yesr is over we have murray for another season and an RFA Sammy. If they both put up a .920+ season do you keep both or do you use 1 to shore up another area?
 
There was an article earlier in the season where Samsonov said he liked it here and wasn't just planning on staying for only a year.

Would be great to get term and not a large aav.

At least Binnington did get them a Cup, so that makes living with his awful contract easier to live with.

But yeah, he seems to get worse by a fair margin each year and his faux-tough-guy schtick is some pretty cringey stuff.

I love having options, especially cheap ones, since Sammy likely won't have much bargaining power and may result in a nice extension for us. I also think all these guys are unpredictable and can't be relied on. For the record, I was very pro getting Sammy, and Murray I was meh-ish. But for both of them, it's still so early to come to any conclusions. They've both only played 10 games in a Leafs uniform, and I'm loving that they're doing so well, but I'm also sort of waiting for the other shoe to drop. Because, as we know, all goalies are assholes. You just don't know when they'll lash out at you.
 
Man, the fucking Bruins. 10+ years out from their Cup win with a bunch of the same core guys and they still just keep trucking along at the top of the standings year after year.

They even unexpectedly lose Rask to early retirement and immediately transition to Ullmark. Who has a 15-1 record & .939 SV% through 18 games for them this year.
 
Boston perennially great. NJ out of nowhere and now dominant. Pittsburgh somehow still good. Carolina and Freddy. Vegas still hasn’t really missed a beat since joining. Much to annoy in the standings.
