The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

I’m not excited by those two names.

Crouse has been growing on me. Big, scoring at a nice clip, young. Signed for years at a nice number.

Bertuzzi are his issues…eh.
 
And I don’t really get the mourning for Engvall.

True, if it turns out we’ve dumped him for a 3rd rounder and not replaced him with a better forward by the time the deadline passes, then we’re a worse team.

But Eggy was a jack of all trades type player that was mediocre as hell at all of them. And in 200+ games has never established himself as a legit scorer, had never reached out and grabbed a bigger role, never contributed anything in the playoffs and has firmly established himself as the modern-day Treebitch.

We can and should do better with the $2.25M in cap space he occupied.

Anyways this basically sums up my view. He’s a mediocre third liner. His nerdy stats were good but he was horseshit when it mattered, and I have no problem with the team saying they’d prefer a 30 point guy who slams some heads than a 30 point guy who is maybe a bit better defensively.

You got what? A third iirc? That's a good return for Engvall. Take that and run, especially when you're loading up.

I was impressed with Dubas right up until he got Schenn.
 
Kerfoot and Holl I think get moved. 2 more forwards and a depth defenseman. Hopefully a legit top 6 scorer.
