Could they add Bertuzzi without trading Kerfoot? What would a 50% retained trade have to look like?
 
The more I think about the Sandin deal the worse it is. Why bother taking back Gus? If you don’t then they don’t even have to move a player (Engvall) to get under the cap.
 
Sandin likely did prefer to leave and Dubas was honouring his wishes. Not knowledge, just speculation. I don't like the trade at all. But we'll see what they do with the pick.

I won’t believe that. I think he wanted to stay, and just play. He was probably having the best time of his career so far this year.
 
The only place I see Kerfoot being even accepted in a deal because he is a UFA, is Phoenix or Vancouver.

I want his arse gone. He epitomizes the softness of the regular season. He's a swiss army knife, but one of those you find on your keychain.

With the gong show that has been Reilly as well....................I know everyone is gonna say something shitty................But would Reilly agree to a trade if it was to go back to BC with his new wife? That may be a deal.

All it would take is say Garland and (I don't want, but Myers) or what about a coup... in Demko?

I also, think I'd like to see Gustafson in for the offensive potential that Reilly hasn't shown a lick of this year. At least for a few games down the stretch.

Get rid of Holl (we have enough big defenseman who don't move the puck particularly well and can get beat up by the Nuge) and give those minutes to Gus for a bit

I would try him with Lilly for a few shifts and on the PP or PP2 with Reilly parked in front of the net.

I believe you might have been someone expecting to use sandin to get a forward (think others were speculating this too). So let’s see what dubas does with the pick as it likely will do that very thing.

Thing is, they’re switching up the bottom six of a fourth overall team. The only red flag was the shit record against the shit teams, but that wasn’t necessarily a bottom six problem. This is a lot of overhaul and arguably missing the mark. I still think they should’ve chased the big fish, pushed everyone down, not been afraid to use Holmberg.
