The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

We’re terrible now. It’s almost like the plan was to lose all semblance of structure and just throw shit to the wall, or in this case hockey players to the ice. Remove nice depth guys and roll the dice on other team’s depth guys, generally bad teams’ depth guys! Stop with the whole forward lines fad, and just play with fewer guys so you can jumble up lines all game! No more D pairs, just a carousel of 7 guys rotating through!

How can the other team have a plan to stop us when we operate according to no plan at all. A very difficult exercise, for sure. Good luck, shutdown pair, you’ll be facing Matty Lafferty and three dmen.

Zeke breaks down every trade by skills, stats, likely role usage, likely impact, and seems to have got it pretty bang on all around.

If there's one thing I've learned in all my years here: if zeke is bearish on the Leafs, it's wise to listen. High, high likelihood that he's right.

Its adorable that the only thing you cared about in Preston's posts was him giving zeke credit.

I do think it’ll be completely flukey and lucky if they somehow manage to win it now. Unless they shore up their game and consistently put on strong outings a bit ahead of game one. And I am leaving room that a lot of overhaul with not much time to go, might take a minute to set. With ROR out, it won’t even really be possible, and that part concerns me.

I don't get it. Are you saying that you were bullish on the Leafs the last 20 years and have been correct?? that you being negative on a team that has a good regular season record is somehow not new?

also don't get where you're coming from with the deadline. we're pretty much in alignment on what happened there.

To be clear though - you expressed you were open to a McCabe deal at 2m before the deadline. And you were one of the first to bring up ROR.

So this is mainly over Schenn/Engvall/Sandin, correct?

Has anyone discussed the possibility that Shanahan put his thumb on the scale this time around?
 
Think I was pretty on board for the ROR, Acciari, McCabe acquisitions.

His three trade day didn't make much sense to me unless it was a set up for another move.
