Yeah at least McCabe has been getting legit tough usage. But man i still hoped for better than this.

Honestly, I think if he was on the Leafs all year, he’d have looked good just like the rest of the Leafs did too. But in this post deadline Leafs, everyone looks bad. The focus on McCabe is likely only because we didn’t get to see him be good before the deadline. But from what I see of him, in a vacuum just zeroing I’m on his play, I think he’s a good add. Shoulda been Meier but that’s a different story.

The team should not be nearly this bad. And they should still be better than Tampa.

But man little things can add up quick. Thats even if you think trading away great possession players for bad ones is a little thing.

Scary thing is its been so bad that Keefe has already given up on the idea of McCabe replacing Muzzin from last playoffs' shutdown pairing, which he specifically said was the reason they got him.
 
Honestly, I still think he IS better than this. Its been 10 games. I didn't get the Jarnkrok signing either really but he's had a career year. Maybe just have a little patience?
 
the only saving grace for McCabe is we are paying him Holl money to be nowhere near as good as Muzz.

but I'm not even sure he's much better than Holl. I guess Holl is due for a raise next year, so replacing Holl with McCabe for the same salary is fine in a vacuum, but agreed he's been a pretty major disappointment.

and, if McCabe cannot be our shutdown guy, then there really was not any need to acquire him as our D was pretty awesome beforehand.

Jarnkrok looked like fine all around middle sixer to me from the start.

I trusted dubas on McCabe even though i had to ignore that this guy was a 19mpg guy on an awful dcorps and we were getting him to play on our shutdown pairing.
 
Starting to just hope for

Rielly - Brodie
Gio - Lilly
McCabe - Schenn

If they end up as just an ultra physical bottom pairing i guess thats not the worst thing.

But hopefully mccabe has more to offer than that.
