The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

I can’t think of anything Leafier than firing the coach and GM that iced the best teams since the 1960s because no cups.

If they fire these guys, they deserve whatever comes next.
No cups? How about no second rounds? And putting some of the shittiest vets on display while deserving kids get the boot.

It's a shame because they basically set up the team to get it 95% of the way there, and then the last 5% they poop their pants.

that's on Keefe...so maybe he's not "a really good coach tbh"

Roster is on the GM, usage is on coach.

Sheldon banishing good players to the 4th line and never giving them a real opportunity isn't on Dubas.

I see where someone can look at the Leafs and say that Sheldon is a good coach, the nerdies took a leap shortly after punting Babcock and they've been a top 5-7 nerdies team pretty consistently since.

Buuuut....he's had top 3 rosters to work with over that time imo, and as mentioned, has now burnt through a fair amount of good complimentary players to instead play grinder garbage out there as his obvious preferred lineups.

Also, 3 playoffs opportunities now and 2 of those against vastly inferior competition. Nothing he's done and no choice he's made has ever made anything resembling a difference, while at the same time the special teams systems he uses go missing. I'm not saying that's specifically his fault, but he's definitely not been putting his thumb on the scales in a positive direction in 3 runs at it now. I'm still not sure what he's done to earn a 4th go at it.

Robertson is more likely to provide an impact in the playoffs than Knies and by a lot.

Also...for the people who have Robertson prospect fatigue. He's barely a year older than Knies is.

hole on LW is still there, all the kid has to do with that shot is step up and claim it. From an offensive standpoint, his competition continues to be very limited.

If my memory serves me correct, it seemed that way last year too with Boosh. He was not a regular late in the season but once playoffs began he was a staple.

Disclaimer: this was not fact checked and my memory is admittedly spotty.
didn't they give Timmy one game, he made a mistake, then ride the Boosh?

Think it was Timmy for 2 games. But Boosh was always in. Holl was out. In game 3 Holl replaced Tim.

But in the regular season, Boosh was in and out of the lineup much like Schenn has been if I recall correctly.
