Every time I see his name, I think, if I were still humoring Frenemy, he would have used the "Lafferty and the LAFFS" side-splitter a thousand times by now.
For that reason, I want him to be good. Like go all Nick Paul for us in Game 7 so that the portal to a Costanza bizarro universe opens up where we all enter and the opposite of all the bullshit since 1967 happens from here on out.

But the only way for Matty to get more PP time is to play the full 2 minutes. He’s already playing 1:20 or so of each one, I’d guess.

Should have took reliable/serviceable defenseman Connor Murphy from Chicago instead of lafferty. Murphy is Jake McCabe status. One more quality depth defenseman wouldn’t have hurt.
lafferty is useless and can be replaced internally by Knies and some other marlies forward.

We want the Leafs to not consistently be bottom 5 in the NHL in PP time throughout Auston's career. Although there were far more PPs in general in the early days of Ovy so it still won't be comparable.

Its just about acknowledging that Ovy needed double the PP time to match Matthews.

I mean i like Micah fine but arguing that the Leafs downgrades significantly from the horrific goaltending - by every measure - they had last year was always crazy.
I mean he could have argued they didn't upgrade and it wouldnt have been crazy. But he was trying to say they were not just worse but WAY worse than the joke they had last year.
