Do you not remember last playoffs against Tampa where we lost at least partly because of the penalty disparity?

We didn't lose that series because tampa was willing to fight and we weren't
 
Kampf without Engvall is not the same guy and Lafferty doesn't appear to be an NHL player, though maybe he fares better with less minutes on the 4th line. ZAR is shit but a more than capable 4th liner.

Rest of the team looks dynamite. Acciari may be a better pickup than ROR in the end and McCabe is really coming around to maybe just maybe potentially being the Muzzin replacement they bet on him being. Hope Liljegren gets his game back

Much happier with the 65xgf% over the last 4gms, despite the 2-2 record, than the ~40% over the previous ~10gms, despite the winning record.
 
I think McCabe maybe needed a few games to get used to the teams pace. Not sure what the nerdies looked like but I do remember a lot of huffing and puffing over muzzins first handful of games here.
 
McCabe is a good addition. He's sort of a less offensively inclined, more defensively aware version of Rielly.

He skates well too. He's getting acclimated.

And I don't get the Muzzin comparisons. They are nothing alike.
 
That's the beauty of it - there is no risk here.

If the castoffs from other teams' bottom lines, and other guys like ZAR and Lafferty, ultimately bomb, that's exactly what was expected of them. And if they do well, then we reap the benefits.

And all the kids will still be there waiting, just a year older and plying their trade in the minors, and we can give them a chance the next season. Unless there are more sexy castoffs to be had...
 
Dummy Bourne on the broadcast yesterday pushing for a Rielly-Brodie pairing. Are these people stupid? Do they not understand why they got McCabe in the first place? It wasn't because they needed another middling Holl-esque D to play on the 2nd or 3rd pair.. It was always to play big tough minutes with against the Kucherovs's, Bergchand's, etc. That was the goal. And it's starting to look like he is capable of doing it.
 
I didn't watch intently the Nashville game, but I wondered how the third line with Bunting, Acciari and Lafferty did.

Are those xGF's from the last game or the last few.

Because I wondered what a true pest line was going to do.

Ideally you want Knies with a centre that can assist defensively, but he should have some opportunity to use his frame and see if he can score a bit in the NHL. So I'm debating on Bunting on the third line... ideally.
