None. They’re interchangeable and only given attention when we’re short players. That’s when they get all sorts of sudden friendly texts about how they gotta play, we need them!!

I think they’re dumb about math, finance, and other subjects, but gotta trust they’re smart at hockey.

Teams can now ice players off LTIR with no cap consequences (Hall/Stone), but we can't call up an emergency goalie from the AHL because of the cap?

Actually I read an article once that talked about how good hockey players are innately skilled on some level at physics. And I totally agree with it. Anyone who is a skilled passer (as yours truly may consider himself) likely buys into the theory.

Actually to frame this better, there are probably examples of the league allowing these in the past, but because Toronto is known for squeezing every cent out of the salary cap - they nixed it because the Knies contract appeared to be the direct cause.
