Again, I think back to the hope we all felt when we had Matthews and Marner on entries. seemed like it was wide open road for us.

His numbers are trash so far but good to reward his strong preseason.

yeah he's been getting lots of chances down there, like he did in the preseason. but his lack of finish is probably a legit concern.

the more important part of course is that he seems to be a good territorial player that you can trust at C defensively and moves things in the right direction offensively.

This is what I wanted to see and sorta expected to see now that he has been called up. Leafs wouldn't have called him up if he has been trash. Seems like he could carve out a nice career of being an underwhelming, but strong nerdy guy down the middle. 3c please please please.

You could. Historically, JT has worked as well with plumbers and crap as he has with talent. I don't think it would make much difference if you went:
