The Fucking Offseason Thread - Why bother waiting?

Not many Im taking over Dubas at the moment despite his flaws. There are much worse options out there

And despite all that movement those pickups were not the biggest reason for failing to go on a run.

The call was coming from inside the house
Might end up being a double edge sword.
Maybe the 'inside the house' group will now stay the fuk away from the guy that was hired to do the GM duties properly.
If it really was Shanahan that drove that bus to trade all those picks away, then he should be fired way before Dubas imo.

Nerd's last few trades amount to:

Fillip Hallander
1st round pick
3rd round pick
4th round pick
4th round pick
5th round pick
6th round pick
7th round pick

For

Not losing one of Dermott/Kerfoot
4 games of Ben Hutton
4 games of David Rittich
10 games of broken down Nick Foligno
2 games of Riley "I'm just out here to take up space" Nash
Fire Dubas

Nerd about to tee off.

If we are being honest, there is one bad trade on that list.

Moving midround picks for depth at the deadline is inconsequential. Those picks are easily recouped by Dubas trading down every year.

Hallandar, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th for Kerfoot/Dermott, and deadline depth isn't bad.

Its about a trend and a body of work. His last few trades have been vastly overpaying for a gudpro and nibbling on bunch of fringe-NHLers. Those nibbles add up.

What kind of asset could we get back that could actually help this team win over the next few years for all those futures? Because right now, all we have to show for them is not losing Travis Dermott in an expansion draft. Hell, even one solid rental asset that could have pushed us past the Habs rather than nibbling on a bunch of barely-NHLers.

I for one am higher on Dermott than most here. I think between him and Sandin we have our LD going forward once we move on from Muzzin.

Deadline rentals are always bad deals when you don't win.

And some deadline deals are obviously bad when the ink on the paperwork for the deal is still wet. Like the Foligno deal.

Well, obvious to everyone except you, the mainstream media in Toronto and Dubas, I suppose.
