The Fucking Season Thread - Redemption Tour '22

If he's actually shit defensively, yeah.. It's a tough sell for me. It would be nice to get some extra pop from the back-end but not at the expense of D. Jarny seems underwhelming too. Shoot higher.

Thats it. Paying sticker price for Klingberg may not be worth it . At least try to use those assets to get someone with term

Jets may be willing to move some salary. Is DeMelo still good?

Bunting-Matthews-Marner 68.3xgf%, 63.7gf%

Kerfoot-Tavares-Nylander 51.0xgf%, 63.4gf% - this line could be better

Mikheyev-Kampf-Engvall 77.6xgf%, 53.0gf%
Engvall-Kampf-Kase 55.9xgf%, 48.8gf%
Kerfoot-Kampf-Kase 50.0xgf%, 57.9gf%
Mikheyev-Kampf-Kase 32.6xgf%, 0.0gf% (tiny sample)

Engvall-Spezza-Simmonds 73.0xgf%, 74.0gf%
Ritchie-Spezza-Simmonds 49.0xgf%, 39.5gf%
Clifford-Spezza-Simmonds 13.7xgf%, 0.0gf% (tiny sample)

Engvall sure seems to have a pretty huge impact. Nice having him on the 4th line but he might be better served higher in the lineup.

And now might be the right time to sell high on Kerfoot and use his cap elsewhere. despite better results this year his impact is still pretty questionable, no matter the line.

Wouldn't mind seeing a Nylander-Tavares-Kase 2nd line and Mikheyev-Kampf-Engvall checking line, tbh.

I also would like Spezza on the wing not at center (though this might effectively happen whenever engvall is on that line anyways - might be why the line is so dramatically better when engvall is out there).

Engvall continues to be the most under-appreciated Leaf. Makes everyone around him better. He is not a 4th liner.

I assume Marner on L2 is supposed to be SEX?

Also, admittedly somewhat surprised by the Engvall effect.

And this matches my eye test on Clifford (my eyes say he is complete useless deadweight).

Interesting to see Kerf outperforming his nerdies by so much. And I really like the idea of Kase in the top-6 with the Engvall-Kampf-Mikky checking line.

I told you guys Engvall was really good. Glad you’re starting to come around.

Kerf is very good too. He’s important to our offense and our depth. He’s always moving out there and doing something. They’re not trading him, so I’m not concerned.

I was arguing tooth and nail with everyone that Engvall was a far better hockey player than Nicholas Mimsy Ritchie before the season began. Believe I called it the "shiny new toy syndrome" that we all suffer from. I've been all aboard the Engvall train since the beginning my friend!

So are advanced stats good...or not? They can't be proof that you were right about engvall but not matter regarding Kerfoot.

clearly you have not been paying attention.

the single most reliable indicator of a player's performance is LOF's eye test. any other 'number' or 'statistic' is just noise. unless it confirms the eye test, in which case it is reliable. when it disputes the eye test, unreliable.
