Pretty sure he's gone next year- he's owed very little salary next year so should have plenty of trade value and we're going to need the capspace.

Guys like mikky and kase will be cheaper than him and they're similar caliber players.
 
betting that Mikky will be gone. Dubas will go back to the bargain bin to replace him and search for another 1B goalie after trading mrazek, Campbell gets a raise and kerfoot gone To make room for RFA raises on defence and a 3C/4D

Yeah, Mikky’s gone after this year. Let’s not forget he already requested a trade. And I imagine the reason for that is he wants to play somewhere that gives him a steady spot in their top-6.

Pretty, pretty sure that Campbell ain't getting anywhere near $5M at this point either. Not unless he has a major rebound and stays consistent the rest of the way, and/or an elite run in the playoffs.
 
Kerfoots money has to go. Ideally Mrazek too. They have flexibility to make an addition. It’s not like they need a ton either. Just a better that Kerf top 6 winger and a goalie.

Robertson will fill Mikheyevs spot for less money and likely more production. Engvall, Kase, Sandin and Lilly will get reasonable deals as rfas.

Carrying 8 d feels unlikely to me so I'm a bit concerned that Lilly is gone. Of course they may package Dermott in another trade for a winger or some shit too. We shall see.
 
I think something is up too but I won’t let myself believe Lilly is leaving. They’ve never really liked Dermott that much. He has to be the one they’d move. Which sucks because I’ve always liked him, but you can’t carry twenty dmen.

Yeah I didn't mean they're trading Liljegren. I meant sending him down... Which they have to do if they carry 7 d and want to keep Dzingle. I don't mind this ozhiganov guy if he's the 7 that occasionally rotates in/out with Liljegren. If he's shit you cut bait and stop playing him tho.

But then carrying 8 d seems aggressive. Packaging Dermott for help up front feels like the move but who knows if he even has any trade value at this point. He's a 3rd pair guy that sucks ass every time he's asked to be anything more than that. But to be clear, if the swap is Ozhiganov for Dermott or Liljegren I feel like their d just got worse.
 
Both guys are pending UFA's, we aren't going to make any moves impacting the future because they're here at the moment.

Lyub also makes reasonable cap balast in another deal for anyone looking for a 3rd pairing RHD to extend for cheap. I assume that we intend on going shopping for an impact body at the deadline. This gives us way more flexibility than Mimsy did. Dzingel is likely here and buried for the year, but new ozzy could easily be shipped off at the deadline.
 
In a third pair role Lubes is a better defensive player in Dubas' eyes than any of Dermott, Lily or Sandin right now. he's also a lot more physical than any of them fwiw.

Ozighanov couldn't even play in the league, that's a silly comparison.

he will play because there is likely a followup move here in the next few weeks where another of our D is headed out.
