The Fucking Season Thread - Redemption Tour '22

Better get aggressive. Even with Muzzin, I was skeptical of him. Without him, we should get a guy. The richest team should at least once get to abuse the rules like the others consistently do.
 
If I'm Shanny, I don't know how I could hold anything against Dubas really, or expect to find someone better to replace him.

He's consistently iced a competitive team. He's weathered losses of players and cap casualties and replaced them with better personnel. He's basically had the team improve every year. Either we draw the playoff warrior vet Caps and Bruins in the first round the first few years, or we get bullshit covid 5 game nonsense versus Columbus and a Tavares/Muzzin-less loss to the shitty Habs after two lucky OT wins by them. Firing Dubas doesn't make the big 4 stand up and dominate game 7's. Only they can do that. Just keep giving them the opportunity, improving the supporting cast as best you can, and hope they rise to the occasion.

I don't want some imbecile coming in and trading Nylander for Faulk or whatever other bullshit they'd do to put their stamp on the team and make it "their own"

Those moves cost assets, and we only have so much acquisition capital before we empty the cupboards. I don't think we're trading two 1sts plus several prospects.
 
If you could figure out a way to move Holl and Mrazek plus the assets... Sure it will still cost you the picks that you'd need, but it would allow us to field the strongest team for this play off run possible.

It could also let you bolster the line up with some players with term like Chykrun.

Figure out a way to get Mrazek and get Halak.... the 4 mil for Chykrun is only used up by the Mrazek and Holl money saved. Pick up Schenn with the Halak deal and then figure out someway to get Hertl. Who coincidentally makes exactly the same as Muzzin.

Let's hope Dzingel is a plant to turn San Jose once and for all into a seller.
 
I would love it if they made Mrazek vanish. I'm not a proponent of expensive backups. Especially bad ones.

Muzz really needs to go in the offseason, so if you can get a guy now, be it Chychrun or whoever to replace him, do it. It's a bonus to have both at the same time thanks to cap shenanigans. Then dump Muzz in the summer.

My worry is still games like yesterday, where the top guys just don't show up against competition they should murder just by looking at them. Need to have a couple extra scorers to pick up the slack when they nod off.
 


I'm hoping the leafs have a really good sit down conversation with lybushkin to ask him how good is Chykryn really.

Then throw a deal together for Chykryn and get Phil thrown in at 50% or more since we are paying the balance of his pay.
Phil on the fourth line with Spezza and on the second pp will be deadly.

How bad is Crouse though.....I like his sandpaper and could open up so e space for JT and Willy
 
Pretty sure we're supposed to be doing one deal per day with Arizona till the deadline, so this probably happens this evening.

He was talking about how he was proud of the team for using their platform to highlight anti-racism on the team and just acknowledged the team’s lack of diversity. Might’ve been just before we signed Simmonds?
 
I googled "dubas woke" in response to the dzingel quote and saw that and found it funny. Made no sense in the context I posted it in but whatever. It was an image from Rebel News, taken out of context of course.
