The Fucking Season Thread - Redemption Tour '22

I’m really confused why this game was important. We beat them already when the standings were tight. There was really nothing to be learned. What if Matthews reaggrevates something and misses time? Just weird to freak out about a game that means nothing.
Doesn't help that they dressed a 9th string catcher to play DH tho.

Especially kucherovs (imo) deliberate kick to slice marner tendons. That was dirty as fuck. Even gord miller called his sneaky dirty

Totally agree, he was definitely looking for contact with that figure skating spin move. Thankfully not as bad as Cooke on EK.

I mean feel what you want to feel, but the Leafs are playing out the string waiting for the playoffs and while I’d prefer them to be sharp, I’m fine alternating Soup and Not Soup and giving guys nights off.

For what it's worth Keefe was already teasing that Matthews might not even play tomorrow. So they probably have a little more concern than they're letting on. Sounds like he tweaked a muscle or something and we know that can get iffy if you push through that. Little reason to go too crazy here.

I am worried about Zeke’s recent micro rants — the board might need to send him a Collective Arts package

Oh I was just trying to relive a historic FI debate. I have no opinion on this really. I just wish they didn't get blown the fuck out this close to the playoffs. Probably doesn't matter much but it may provide a confidence edge to the bolts heading into the first round. Don't want the fragile group of leafs second guessing themselves. They should play and act like they are the favorites because they are the favorites based on how the season played out.

Auston having an injury that he's hoping he can "work through" and "manage" is exactly what we want to be hearing on the eve of the playoffs.
Yeah almost sounds like he would be shut down if he wasn't gunning for 60. Keefe implied
that Auston was fairly adamant about going tonight as it was suggested he gives himself another day and play tomorrow instead.

Didn't Matthews get the crossbar square on the jaw about 2 months ago? Could this have something to do with that?
