I measure it by the quality of team thats built……No one would prefer to have the 20’ Habs team over the Leafs as a team, but they had far more playoff success that year.

Tampa once got swept by Columbus….and if anyone could have swapped franchises with someone, Lightning would have been the #1 choice by nearly everyone.


so yes….judging a GM solely on playoff outcomes, is for smooth brains.
