The Mother-fucking goddamn Off-season Thread

Wanted to post something from a source close to the team

I don’t believe this particular conspiracy one bit.

Dubie had no intention of leaving TO.

Pittsburgh would’ve never dared to tamper against the Leafs on this level.

And why the fuck would Dubie want so bad to go to Pittsburgh that he’d put into motion all this false posturing to get himself canned?

If he goes there now, it’s only because it’s something that sprung up after the last week’s fiasco.

Named sources > unnamed sources

I'm just taking the piss with this.

not even disagreeing with your overall point….but if your philosophy began to differ with the guy you fired, and your choice now is to hire someone with your philosophy.

whats funny is that i think its Dubas that went away from the analytics philosophy, not shanahan.

Shanny hired dubas for a reason. Even before he hired Lou.

The media's favorite new word today is "fallout".

Not stopping PIT from talking to dubas? That's "fallout".

Hiring a new GM? more "fallout".

Any other potential change? More "fallout" to come.

Fallout.

Players in exit interviews: We're not close to winning a title, something needs to be done, this team just isn't good enough
Also the players: why would you fire Kyle, we liked him. We're now sad and might not want to come back

We're expected to believe both of these narratives are true.

I certainly don’t discount it as possible…that’s why ive said from the jump, that Shanny GM & coach hires will be informative on that front.

…or that different players have different opinions?

This is getting so overly dramatic now.

At the end of the day, we parted ways with a guy who's had very very limited playoff success here and made his fair share of mistakes. Even as a long-time Dubas backer, I can admit that. Dubas isn't the only GM that can put together a great team. Just make a good next hire.

Tomorrow's text from Fried's source:

"It's literally like that old Arnold movie...you know what one where you had to run away from murderers with personal gimmicks like blinky suits and shit...yeah that one, this is the exact same. I've killed 2 people in the last 20 minutes just trying to survive"

Nothing overly dramatic here

Possibly ( not literally) the most egregious use of the term literally I have ever seen
