I'm guessing he thought he was in the clear until CJ asked him that very pointed "Do you want to be here and do you still have it in you?" question - that's when it sorta went south.
But the President has an obligation to make sure the GM he's extending is totally committed - it's reasonable for him to have been shaken by that "uh, um, i can't say, my family" answer.
I was sure he was coming back until then and then posted on Tuesday that based on his answers I was open to moving on - and I didn;t even know he had a contract offer in hand. Why wouldn't Shanahan walk away feeling that too?
