What else does the article say?
Not much unfortunately.
What else does the article say?
All the shitting on the big contracts and we waste $8.3m on Kerfoot and Murray.
LMAAAAOOOOOOOOO
Christ.
Honestly, I have zero doubt that had Dubas remained in the job here, he’d have signed Kerfoot to a multi-year contract extension this summer.
The article does say that they never engaged kerfoot's camp in extension talks at least.
Thanks for logic-ing that out.just trying to clarify in my head....
we paid for O'Reilly at 50% ($3.75), and then another 4th rounder to get Minny take $1.875 of that. we got a 3rd rounder for Engvall.
if we had moved Kerf instead of the 4th rounder, we would then have had an extra $1.625 in capspace. That would have easily covered the few hundred K that iirc we were over the cap with Engvall here.
So at best the choice was Kerfoot plus a 3rd rounder over Engvall plus a 4th rounder plus an extra $1m in capspace, which i guess could be argued to be the right choice. maybe.
I mean his love for guys like Jarnkrok, Kampf, ZAR, Acciar etc. suggests on-ice love as well.
Half the team was Kerfoots. At least the rest made $4 mill combined though.
Honestly I think Kyle's love for Kerfoot was because he was loved in the dressing room. People seemd to love Kerf so Kyle felt it was important to keep him around. I think? It couldn't have possibly been his on-ice play, though this reasoning is equally as dumb. Good riddance. What a fucking dud GM.
So the team very realistically could have been:
McCann-Matthews-Marner
Knies-Tavares-Nylander
Bunting-ROR-Engvall
Acciari-Kampf-Lafferty
Rielly-Brodie
Sandin-Lilly
Gio-McCabe
