Treliving has done a lot of dumb shit. I wouldn't necessarily put the Coleman move in the same bucket as a lot of the others tho. He's really good. I think you're heavily underrating the player here.If the point you’re making is that this one particular example of a dumb Treliving move isn’t as bad as the combination of a couple examples of bad Dubas moves…ok I guess?
“None of the above” is still very much the preferred option here though.
Woke this. Hate that word.So woke of you
Isn’t this bound to happens regardless? The closer to the trophy they go, the bigger the heartache? Watching your fave team chase the cup in the finals to just be eviscerated emotionally in game 7? We all set ourselves up for this. Every. Single. Year. The highest of highs and the lowest of lows in fandom.the TDL is where Dubie & co lost me, and they haven't really done anything to get me back.
I mean, beating Tampa was fun and all, but that turned back to misery right quick.
I don’t think that’s it. I don’t feel like beating Tampa was much in the way of meaningful progress. Its more distress that our window may be closing sooner than expected after accomplishing diddly squat.Isn’t this bound to happens regardless? I just recall 1995 finally watching the Steelers in a Super Bowl. Being ecstatic at the game then distraught over two identical pick 6s that ended up being the demise of all hope. The road to the big game was awesome. Losing on the biggest stage sucked big path Moose cock. Same with losing to GB. So close it feels you can reach out and touch it. Then Bupkiss. I do understand the window closing feeling though. That being said, we as fans have no idea how things are going to unfold. The fun in debating it and discussing possibilities is what makes this worthwhile regardless of outcomes in my humble opinion. You know. The friends we made along the way.I don’t think that’s it. Now we are taking away actual playoff wins from Dubas teams.
so good.
Dubas clearly has Treliving on July 1 (though many here would point to JT being the worst contract of all). I prefer to not give out expensive long term contracts to depth players. At least Treliving did it to analytic darlings and not Komis/Clarksons, but still. I’d much rather use July 1 for JTs, and Brodie and bargain bin shopping than Coleman’s and Froliks.
Treliving has him on trades. Dubas fucked up a ton there, gave away top line talent and a ton of picks for nothing and Treliving made a lot of big deals that made his team better. Even opting for a younger, signed guy like Toffoli at the deadline over expensive, past their prime rentals. Ppl will point to Tkachuk but he had to trade him and did very will under the circumstances. People were shocked at the return last summer, even the twitter nerds like Dom. But it doesn’t matter because you will always lose a Tkachuk trade. Which is exactly why we can’t trade Marner or Nylander.
seems to have him on draft too. Way more high end swings and produced more NHlers although there is still a lot to be determined in the 19-22 drafts.
if you could combine them they’d make a pretty good GM.
Anyone happy with the final tally is lying.
we all hope Treliving can get done what Dubas couldn't. Period. And I don’t mean win 6 playoff games.
I recall being vocal about wanting to deal for Marner for Tkachuk + at the time and being panned for it and while I liked his game, would have never have guessed he would turn into the player we saw this season
