The Mother-fucking goddamn Off-season Thread

He was complete trash during his time here. He feasted off of linemates and has very little skill left in him. Can’t pass, can’t score. He’s just a glorified grinder picking up points due to the other guys. He shouldn’t even have been in a position to pick up those PP points since nobody but Keefe would sit Willy for him.

Back as our 3C on a reasonable deal? I’m down. Anything more and it will fuck us.

Outscored Tavares regular season and playoffs, with less PP time, worse linemates, and better nerdies in far tougher usage.

How cute.

9 points in 11 playoff games. 5 of those were on the PP. His 4 even strength points included that terrible seeing eye goal when we were 6 on 5. Another was his pushing in a Knies shot resting on the goal line. (Meanwhile, Tavares with 8 points in 11 games, and 5 of them at even strength, including the series winning goal).

And again, ROR was playing on the PP when Nylander, a far superior player, got punted to PP2 and got no PP time. Meaning, he shouldn't even have been on the ice to get those 5 points, and to score into an open net after Marner dances around back and forth and finds him.

Let's not even talk about the regular season points, where aside from his adrenaline-fueled hat trick in his first game, he was terrible, with 1 goal and 6 assists (3 of which were on the PP where we all know he did jack shit). Oh, and his classic lying on the ice and having the puck hit his ass off a Tavares shot, which Tavares then deposited into the net, thereby giving ROR one of those assists. Hilariously ironic.

It's too bad you're playing with your calculator during the games to see what's actually happening on the ice.

Lmao did Tavares do anything at all outside of that one blowout game?

Don't worry about Tavares. Worry about showing that ROR is actually a top sixer, and not some bottom six fraud, that you'd commit term and dollars to, that you'd be on the hook for long after Tavares' deal is done.

Playoffs Linemates 5v5

Tavares

1. Nylander 61:16, 2.01p60
2. Marner 53:00, 2.26p60
3. O'Reilly 39:06, 0.00p60

O'Reilly

1.Acciari 100:49, 1.19p60
2.Kerfoot 42:07, 1.42p60
3.Tavares 39:06, 1.53p60

And get this - ROR still outscored Tavares.
