The Mother-fucking goddamn Off-season Thread

This same website also has an article on its front page this morning that tries to make a serious, straight-faced argument that the Leafs should trade Matthews to Calgary for Toffoli, Hanifin & Markstrom.

So….a font of solid journalistic information that website is not.
Since you seem challenged lately I’ll spell it out yet again…

Yea the site is garbage however his synopsis on Musty wasn’t. Ever think being a tool is the reason you don’t win anything? Seems a lot of leaf fans are just big tools that don’t understand what’s being said to them because they’re expecting ribs about their team. Ribs that are fully warranted btw.

So ya, you do you, I think he’s a good fit at 28 but likely won’t even be there that late.

learn how to disseminate information. Cheers.

Musty is a great prospect. 1.4 ppg at 17 in the O, and elite skill, plus he's big. No way that guy should be there at 28.

But hes not going to be an impact NHL player for several years. No one picked there will help anytime soon.

Hey, it wasn’t a shot at you or your choice of pick for the Leafs. I’ve paid exactly zero attention to the 2023 draft class, so I’m sure you know more than me on the topic.

Just pointing out that the source you posted is…not a high quality one. Like I’d do if someone posted Howard Berger or Steve Simmons’ take on the upcoming draft.

And I’ll just add another reminder that karma isn’t real. So since nobody even tangentially connected to the Leafs is aware of my existence, the exact size of tool I am has exactly zero impact on whether they win or lose.

If karma isn’t real why can’t your team win anything of import?

some times they get something close to my thinking on it and it’s easier than typing it out.

If Musty falls to 28 I’m betting Tre grabs him, skill and size and not afraid to use it. Knock is D but you can coach him up.

And that came up on a quick Google, their flames writers are smoking tar sand.

But it allows you to move other pieces. Great player being wrongly dropped in the rankings imo. I’d take him as a Habs prospect.

Anything noteworthy happen the last two weeks?….any interesting reporting/rumors about Trelivings plans?
Mostly sounds like they're running it back. He has some work to do in cleaning up Kyle's mistakes and building up the depth pieces but the big boys are staying.

So at the very most we're gonna get a fresh look at how Tre envisions the depth on this roster, something Kyle clearly struggled with.

I think he’s waiting to see where the market lands after the Philly fire sale like most GMs. Guaranteed he’s been in discussions about players but will wait until draft to do something if anything.

Friedman says Nylander looking for something that starts with a 9. Not an unreasonable demand in the slightest and I bet you can get him for something in the 8s if that's the case. No brainer for me.

if he's trying to re-work the defense via trade then that means Schenn interest would probably be at minimal bottom pair prices.
