He's done about as good a job in Winnipeg as anyone would.

You end up stuck with homegrown players and misfit toys. He seems to do pretty well trading off the pieces that don't want to be there and keeping the team competitive.

He has drafted well but fucked up waiting too long to move Helly and Shief

2 years ago they score the moon in return and now those assets would help the retool

2 years ago they still fancied themselves as legit WCF threats and those two were in their late 20's. Tough to move on from core guys when you're still pretty good and most problems for most teams could be explained away by covid fuckery.

I have never and will never understand the widespread optimism of the fucking Winnipeg Jets.

I criminally mediocre roster ( Raptors minus title) and key players surely leaving in FA cause, Winnipeg, but each and every god damn year someone calls them best Canadian team, or a sleeper or somethign.

They are immune to criticism it seems since they re-joined the NHL.
