He's a hockey player, I don't want this to come off poorly, but they have egos and they want to win at all costs. I think JT would push it as far as he can, just take a look at last night, even though he got rocked/blacked out, he still ignored medical advice and tried to get back up and continue playing. I hope that he makes a full recovery from this, and I do hope he listens to whatever medical advice the doctors give him. All the best to him, that was some awful shit he went through last night.

honestly one of the scariest hockey plays/injuries I've ever witnessed. especially when he tried to get up and just passed right out...

Its up there for me, the worst was when I was at a game where Alyn Mccauley got drilled into the boards. The dude was down on the ice for 30 mins, and EMS had to give him CPR for a few minutes before taking him off, if you thought JT's was awful, that one was a million times worse.
 
Why did they show replay after replay of this incident? Luckily I was watching on tape so I just slipped passed that once I had gathered myself.

This whole thing was handled very poorly by the media. He could have easily been killed.

Yeah, I’m beyond disgusted at the way Sportsnet handled that injury last night.

They went screaming over the line between “informative” and “exploitative”.
 
the newspaper front pages this morn are IMO worse.

but yeah, I'm beginning to think that journos and politicians are cut from a more similar cloth than I may have recognized.
 
All I'll say about Tavares is that concussions are bizarre and he may be completely fine - and soon - or his career might be done. Getting knocked out doesn't mean you're necessarily concussed.

No way to know.
