The Motherfucking 2021 Season Thread

R860c4fdad8bfad4e563ba765cd592b4e

We're waiting, nerd.

First sign of media starting to question him, which was pretty mild...and he suddenly has a season ending condition.

Guy's ten-ply.

Where is it written the goalie has to be a rental? I mean is Jack Campbell the long term answer? I wonder if Dubas is considering an offer for a younger goalie on a team that could afford moving one for enough of a price. Say a Mackenzie Blackwood? package him with a Palmieri/Wood?

I'm not sure it is at all, but think the expansion draft makes it more difficult if it's not.

Thats a reasonable point.

If we went after georgiev or another younfer goalie and exposed campbell is seattle going to take him with 1 year left over dermott/holl or kerfoot? I doubt it.

You can always trade Seattle something to take Dermott/Holl in order to keep Campbell

Also without looking too far around the league how much more desireable is Campbell than say Subban? if they want cheap? I think Chicago needs to protect Kinkaid?

Or NYR with Georgiev, there will be alot of affordable goalie options for Seattle, less so top 4 D with upsdie or whatever Kerfoot is

A goalie, motherfucker. A goalie is our biggest trade need.

Yeah im not going to read this article because it either has faith in Fred as a starter still or claims there arent any G in the market, but that's not really the point. Campbell is their G, and he is made of Doritos, to be crushed upon impact and at this stage Fred shouldn't be trusted as the backup, let alone the starter. Any living breathing expiring backup is warranted. Or a Jack upgrade if creative or possible.

c) doesn't mention goaltending once.

Whether he’s legitimately got a serious injury, or if he’s just butthurt from the criticism and pulled the chute, or he doesn’t want to hurt his FA value by continuing to play...yeah. He done.

I’ll be surprised if we see him in a Leaf jersey again. And thank **** for that.
The organization REALLY sucked this guy's balls and set themselves up for this if he's butthurt over the criticism. He should have never been handed that many starts.
I don't think he plays another game for the Leafs either.

Georgiev kinda sucks.

And honestly, I don’t think any goalie that might be available by trade this deadline is someone I’d rather protect than Campbell.

I think the best we’re going to be able to do is get someone who’s a better safety net for Campbell than Hutch.
