They should just make it so expiring contracts dont count against the cap if traded within 2 weeks of the deadline. Its not like it effects the money spent by owners in total and would allow for more movement (and high trade prices) to help teams rebuild.

They are doing a "chance of hyman on team canada" thing during intermission. Love the guy but he does not belong near team Canada
25G pace over the last three seasons...he actually deserves a look if he’s playing well again heading into the Olympics. Not saying should make it, but he’s earning a chance if he can keep this up for another 12 months or whatever. He brings a different dynamic, can do PK work, last min on ice when up a goal and can grind and make things hard on opponents D.

Hyman is headed for a big contract from somebody.
still think he’s gonna take less to stay here for the big picture $$$ of the next 20-30 years after of making $$$ based on being beloved by the fan base like Clark etc..

3.8x8 front loaded and mostly signing bonus. Since he comes from money he knows time value of money and the added year would make a 7x4.3 dealthe equivalent

He gets paid, we get a lower AAV and everyone is happy.
