The New Division

This is now twice in a handful of days that your reading comprehension has sucked. The offer was a +/- of 2. So from 63-67 points was a wash. Anything below was a win for me, anything above was a win for whomever. It was a ****ing gift that I've had nothing but haggling and bullshit over, so I'm not interested in the bet any longer.

So I give you your +/- of 2, but want 70 GP for a chance at ppg to win (essentially require each and every game to get there), and you decline?

Thought you'd have the stones to backup your prediction.

Nope. Don't give a **** anymore, it's a prediction and nothing more.

And you didn't say you'd take it, you said you'd take it with a caveat. I've already turned down an offer with a GP ammendment in it.

Not interested in making the bet anymore.
Very lame.

But who cares about the "prediction" aspect. It's a bet. He's building himself s buffer.

The entire point of the bet was to put my money where my prediction was, as such I built a buffer to protect the quality of the prediction. It intent is clear in the mechanics of wager I offered. Nobody was interested in the bet, so whatever.

Its not a prediction its a bet. The prediction and the bet are two different things.

He has to take a max for the bet. A prediction does not require a maximum, and his prediction clearly isn't a max of 65 points. He has blatantly said that. I'm not sure why you are trying to tell him what his prediction really is.

Sorry you are dead wrong - his exact words were '65 points or less'. I agree predictions do not require a maximum - but he chose to add that qualifier, not me.

You guys do not understand what makes a prediction valid. If the prediction was 65 points or less, but then he scores 66, his prediction was false.

If he says I think Karlsson will get around 65 points and he gets 67 points, then yeah that's pretty accurate. He's taking everything 65 and below (a wide range). 66 and higher is a much narrower range for a Dman.

If I predict the Leafs to make the playoffs, but come up 1 point short - my prediction would also suck.

These two things are not the same.

The constant semantics arguments around here really drive me crazy. If you're really gonna say a prediction of 65 points sucks if the player gets 66, I just give up because that jus seems unbelievably illogical and petty.

I'm saying a prediction of 65 points or less would suck. If you don't get it feel free to stop posting until you do.

Let's ask a better question - if Karlsson scores 40 pts this year. Would ME's prediction of 65 points or less be accurate?

Just preseason, but Karlsson's skating looked night and day compared to last year post-injury.

I'd say he's 90% recovered - though that extra 10% could just be him not pushing himself in an unimportant game.

2 apples.

I have no idea what his original post said, but who gives a ****. He is clarifying it for you.

Why are you wasting time trying to tell the guy what his own opinion is.

Prepare to see a lot of this:

Not sure what was originally said....but predicting 65 points and prediction a max of 65 points is a huge difference.

That said...if ME doesnt wan't to bet on his prediction so be it.

hot karl leading a rush with speed, dishing off to a streaking ryan who lets a rocket ship go to the top corner. beautiful. thats a goal on any NHL goalie.
