no that was a one time change.
One time…and also literally any time they need to calculate what the waiver priority is on any given day during the season!
no that was a one time change.
Bonus points for this post.
Not for this season. Only for the 2019-20 season. As I previously posted.
So we know that when teams have played the same amount of games, that points and pts% say the exact same thing.
I can give you three examples of the NHL choosing Pts% over Points to determine the order of teams:
1. 2019-20 playoffs seeding, i.e the only time in nhl history there was a disagreement between pts% and points
2. Draft ordering, including older years where non-playoffs teams didn't replay meaningless games and their draft order was determined by pts%
3. Every single day, pts% is used for waiver wire order.
Can you give one example of the NHL choosing points over pts%, when the two numbers disagreed? A single example?
Have you considered the fact that using points over pts% is also plainly stupid?

Boston and Washington have 52 points, sir.
He's the best you can probably get with nothing to offer in a trade, and nerdies still like himIs Dougie Hamilton any good still? Seeing reports we are interested in bringing him in, since he has been out of the line up in NJ.
Anthony Stolarz was in good spirits on Friday afternoon.
His New York Mets had just swiped Bo Bichette away from the Toronto Blue Jays. He had also practised in full with the Maple Leafs for the first time since he was mysteriously injured in November.
Speaking after practice, Stolarz revealed only that it was a “nerve issue” that knocked him out of a Nov. 11 game against the Bruins and has ultimately kept him out for the last 30 games.
He didn’t elaborate on the precise nature of the injury, which the team has not disclosed.
“I had to kind of let it settle down a little bit,” Stolarz said. “It’s not like a bruise where it goes away. It was just something that I just kind of had to let heal on its own. And, you know, it just took a little while.”
Stolarz figured he would need a few additional practices before he was ready to return to game action.
