The Search for the New GM Thread

I think it was the "It just doesn't make any sense!" that rubbed me the wrong way a bit. It feels kind of entitled. Quite frankly, anyone in an NHL head office is vulnerable when they have repeated lack of playoff success and ultimately Kyle:

1) didn't have that success
2) seemed hesitant to commit
3) increased his demand - sounds like for both power and money

What did he expect?

In a sane world, he should have been jumping through hoops to keep his job. He may have just upward failed his way to a Presidents job.

Friedge: "I think you'll be surprised at the names that are going to come out of the woodwork for this job"

Also Friedge: "Bergevin, Treliving, Chiarelli"

Pens ownership situation seems meddly as fuck. He might find he simply gets a faster no instead of a slower yes there.
I don’t work for the mlse board or anything but my guess is they do sweet fuck all on player adds unless there are significant lump sum payments or ltir moves. there’s just no way that tanenbaum and Rogers are getting on a call to approve adding luke schenn or trading Pierre engvall.

the leafs player salary budget isn’t a complicated thing since you can only spend to the cap, and the leafs always spend to the cap. The board will approve that but these people don’t have time to get in the middle of 98% of player moves.

If they need to approve anything my guess is it’s mostly off ice stuff

this all makes sense to me.

these articles trying to push blame on everyone else are super whiny.

It's weird because the boomer angle is so easy here considering the quotes being dredged out of MLSE.

They should all be "we told you they're soft and it came from the top down right now" and they're not. " these 6 woke dubas hiring practices are why mitch marner sucks when it matters" so on and so forth.
