I think they’re waiting for Kuemper but I think the Oilers will blast the market by offering him a crazy deal, and offering the same to Jack if Kuemper doesn’t take it. The Leafs strategy may be to let the Oilers take their pick of the two and then grind the remaining one down. Because I don’t think there are two Oilers out there to land both a big deal.

as someone who reviews medical records on a regular basis, just given the number of injuries/surgeries that we know about, it could legit take a couple days to get through in detail.

Montreal drafts goalies almost every year. That's why they're good at development of them (won't talk about the forwards). I don't see the Leafs doing that. You draft 5-6 guys over a 4 year period to see who pans out. Like dating its simply a numbers game.

What I don’t get is, does Ottawa think it’s going to win something within the next two years? Or are they going for Gaudreau or someone like that? What in the world is their desperation to get out from under Murray all about that they’d give up a prime asset or two plus retain salary? If I’m them, I just happily ride him in net for another 1.5 years and trade him at the deadline for something.

But then again, Chicago is doing all kinds of unthinkable stuff, so why should Ottawa be any different?
