Forgot about him. Add him to the backup plan that includes Price. I guess Gibson goes to the top of the list if Kuemper and Campbell are gone.Gibson?

It takes weeks to review a couple pages of medical information actually. All this reviewing medical record diligence stuff is bullshit.
They’re waiting for Kuemper. If they get him, we’ll probably see some heavily retained trade for Murray. If Oilers grab Kuemper, the Leafs probably wind up with their second choice, who I think is still Jack, but at substantially less than his current ask. And then they get Murray.
So I think Murray is the plan b in both of those scenarios. But if Kuemper and Jack both go elsewhere, that may change things. Then maybe we start looking at situations like Price and Bob, and then maybe they go with a Kallgren as plan b? I dunno.
I just highly doubt they’re busy looking at MRIs all this time. They’re delaying for something.
Should definitely draft one goalie in every draft. But you still have no stud goalie in the system. Still.
Montreal drafts goalies almost every year. That's why they're good at development of them (won't talk about the forwards). I don't see the Leafs doing that. You draft 5-6 guys over a 4 year period to see who pans out. Like dating is simply a numbers game.
Would Chicago not do them the same favor they did us and just take Murray’s full salary, except get something juicy back like a 1st or 2nd?Ottawa up against the wall here - spending starter money they don't have on a goalie that they tried to waive last season.
Best I can tell, Ottawa either needs to retain 50% themselves PLUS find a third team willing to take assets and double retain AND STILL find a team willing to rehab Murray. And even retaining 50% might be too much dough for Ottawa - they might need to work a 4th team in there to do the initial retention.
A buy-out will cost $10mil spread over 4 years - so anything cheaper than that is worth it for Ottawa.
Yup. Late round picks. Middle round of the goalie shows early promise.Should definitely draft one goalie in every draft.
I’m honestly not against a late 1st or a 2nd if the situation warrants and there’s some stud available.Yup. Late round picks. Middle round of the goalie shows early promise.
Four out of Dubas' five drafts. But you still have no stud goalie in the system. Still.

oh nvm
Actually the Leafs are almost for sure signing Boosh. CJ says they're very interested. They loved him.All those kids and Simmonds/Lube are just salary placeholders to see what they can spend to fill the roster.
while true, this usually does not stop anyoneNo sense in panicking until the dust settles and we see how it all plays out
I’ll stop being a fan.Actually the Leafs are almost for sure signing Boosh. CJ says they're very interested. They loved him.
missing Engvall to re-sign but otherwise agreedThey have $10 mill in cap space now. Add Kerfoot and Holl and its close to $16. They can do whatever.
Sandin is the only guy they have to resign, and he'll likley end up with a Lilly deal. You need 3-4 forwards for about $1 mill (including Robertson, Abruzesse, Anderson, Steeves etc.). So they'd have $12 ish mill for two goalies and a top 6 foward.
If it's true that Kuemper is getting 6 milly then I don't see how they could do that tbh. Maybe the Leafs know his ask already.I think I believe it. While typing out an earlier post, I convinced myself he’s plan b in pretty much any situation if they’re getting him for $2m or something like that.
Yeah, why put off for tomorrow what you can do today?while true, this usually does not stop anyone
real dollars is the answer. What I don’t get is, does Ottawa think it’s going to win something within the next two years? Or are they going for Gaudreau or someone like that? What in the world is their desperation to get out from under Murray all about that they’d give up a prime asset or two plus retain salary? If I’m them, I just happily ride him in net for another 1.5 years and trade him at the deadline for something.
But then again, Chicago is doing all kinds of unthinkable stuff, so why should Ottawa be any different?

I agree that we need to draft and develop goalies and have sucked at this for most of my life. But you still have no stud goalie in the system. Still.
