You get the trade package of potential futures and maybe a roster player, or you get a really good forward either in the trade (Miller?) or using the freed up space. Sandin finally steps in and gets to play, giving us a much more mobile and durable backend. The team will get BETTER.

I was okay with trading Muzz if they got the package that you are claiming they will. I convinced myself that they won't get jack shit for him so I pivoted. But if you are right I will congratulate you before I delete my account. And I'd maybe be okay with it depending on what they do. I don't want Miller though.

From a cap perspective it makes absolute sense.

Problem is, Sandin is not capable of tough defensive minutes.

The wacky world of the NHl means leafs can have a big run with Sandin replacing Muzzin. Muzz's cap is a killer.

Well some dummy just paid Chiarot how much for 4 years? Getting Muzz for 2 should be quite appealing. Truthfully, less concerned about the trade return than shedding the contract and replacing him with a good forward.
