Pretty much. The most recent time the script was flipped in a game seven was 18 years ago.

Ed Belfour stopped 36 of 37 shots.

At the other end, Patrick Lalime let in four of the 26 shots he faced. With two of those being all-time elimination-game muffins to Joe Nieuwendyk, and the fourth goal with about 12 minutes left in the third period coming from an un-screened Bryan McCabe wrister from the point.

Belfour had 3 shutouts - the leafs were outshot in all 3 - and another 2ot loss where he stopped 44 of 46.

wrote a lengthy response somewhere in the thread about not giving a shit anymore and moving money to the goalie position. Pick two best available and trade assets and give up cap space. Time to trust kids and $1M signings to replace the guys we lose and dubas has to utilize the deadline better to add more impactful guys to improve where these kids/ufas don’t work out.

the $1m increase in the cap isn't significantly easing any cap crunches out there. its still essentially a flat cap. this year will still see the worst cap crunch yet league wide of all the flat cap years.

doubt we see guys with such limited track records get big bids.
