I've got a lot of appreciation for having a psycho on the team too. No accident that Kadri & Tucker are two of my favourite Leafs in the last 20-25 years. But despite his last name, I don't think Max is particularly tough or physical.

A one-year NHL minimum deal is probably also the only circumstance in which I might be interested.

Since coming to North America, Samsonov has a .903 SV% in 94 NHL games & .895 SV% in 41 AHL games.

No wonder Washington didn't want to pay him real money.

I think Campbell is getting the Hyman treatment just because they are nice guys.

I'm sorry Campbell is a small goalie that does not have the mental fortitude to handle major pressure. A forever back up now being praised as the second best goalie in the nhl.

Sorry, Edmonton can take our nice guys and go through the easy west.. And let's see jack deal with that defense and forwards who don't give a crap about back checking
 
If campbell won’t resign with the team that gave him his first real shot and turfed the best starter they’ve had in 20 years to give him that chance because he’s butt hurt about their offer than it sort of blows up the whole happy Jack team guy narrative.

Seems like good goalie numbers in the Russian league haven't meant much for quite some time now.

I mean, even Hairy Fateri has had a save percentage well over .920 for five consecutive KHL seasons before coming over and putting in six games as the worst goalie in the NHL last season after the Coyotes claimed him off waivers from us.

I still think keumper and Murray would be the first choice. Then Murray and samsonov.

We all say goalies are voodoo. Samsonov is 25.
Maybe keumper is pro Ukraine and doesnt go to Washington cuz of ovy. Who knows.
Maybe keumper also sees similarities in the avs and leafs and prefers this style...who knows
 
Samsonov a Russian numbers aren’t just good they are elite for his age. As good as anyone. Don’t forget young goalies tend to stink. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t have upside

he’s also way younger and cheaper than Kuemper/Campbell, who were not NHL studs at Varlamovs age.
