Re: To Tank or not to Tank, that is the question

Habs win on account of being well rested tonight.

Its also about time Scrivens did something, unless he's OK playing in Siberia for the rest of his career.

Re: To Tank or not to Tank, that is the question

These are exciting times. If we can get a top 5 pick, NHL ready forward, and sign one of Laad, Okposo, or another top 6 I think we'd be able to turn it around.

Especially if we can dump Plex or Markov and add another 1st...which by default would be a late pick.

The next question, is PK worth 10M cap hit. He's been atrocious.

Re: To Tank or not to Tank, that is the question

Leafs and Oilers both get wins to creep closer to us.

Philly passes us... we are at 10th pick right now.

Edit: Anaheim passes us too... we are at 9th.

Worst possible scenario is to finish 9th or 10th. How are top 10 prospects this year?

Yes the Worst possible scenario is to finish 9th in the conference and 14th pick.

Thats not what I meant though by 9th. We are currently 22nd in the NHL or 9th pick.

I think it's clear you understood we were 9th overall.

The prospect pool is very good there are lots of talented forwards in the top 10. The top 5 however is exceptional this year for big skilled forwards.

Mathews, Tkatchuk, 2 Big Fins, etc.

And with the #1 overall pick le club de hockey des Canadiens is proud to select...from Val D'or...Julien Gauthier!!!!
And the crowd goes wild!

Re: To Tank or not to Tank, that is the question

I've zero confidence in this orgs ability to even turn a #1 overall pick into something useful, will likely end up a PK specialist.

This post was fine until the end. PK is leading the team in scoring and minutes played. He's probably gonna be nominated for the Norris again this year (third time in 4 years). But ya, he's been "atrocious."

Highly unlikely. But he's not the problem on this team.

Re: To Tank or not to Tank, that is the question

It's not unlikely for him to be nominated at all. He's on pace for his second best season ever. He's pretty much the only really good player we have (not counting Price).

We'll trade him for Garbutt in a couple of years.

He's not going to be nominated, regardless of his stats. Norris Trophy nominees typically do not come from teams with terrible records.

Well, Karlsson is on a terrible team and he'll easily get one of the spots. Klingberg will obviously have another one. The third spot you can probably put the next 8-10 guys in a hat and draw at random. Burn, PK, Josi, OEL, Faulk, Keith, Giordano, Doughty probably the top options, and I'm not sure how you pick between them.

Re: To Tank or not to Tank, that is the question

PK has had a good, solid season...he's been the only guy imo who plays hard every night.
