Honestly, they should all be "untouchable" unless the player coming back is excellent and with multiple seasons of control, in which case none of them should be "untouchable". Trading high value young assets (or 1st and 2nd round picks imo) only gets problematic when it's for shit, rentals, or shitty rentals. Trade a 1st + Minten for a 27 yr old "Muzzin" signed for 2-3-4 more years. No problem.

Sakic is great because he doesn't act like the smartest person in the room. He knows he is surrounded by people smarter than him and leans on them heavily. There is HEAVY nerd influence in all of their moves. HEAVY. That's the kind of GM you want.
