I wish that would have happened in Montreal about 5 years ago. They talk about what a tough market Montreal and Toronto (and to an extent, all Canadian markets) are, but the reality is that while fans complain they never stop feeding the beast. The arenas are always full, win or lose, and nobody shows up to the Bell Centre with pitchforks and torches to protest inept management and ownership. They only go berserk when an anglo coach is hired on an interim basis.
I wish Habs fans were more like English soccer hooligans who literally try to burn the city to the ground when the team doesn't perform to standards and who exact financial consequences on ownership when they do stupid things like refuse to get rid of an incompetent GM.
Why lol? Feels genuine and heartfelt, most people in his situation never took the time to explain it this thoroughly.

Will Tkachuk write a similar letter when he leaves? He can use all the pretty words explaining why he chose to leave, but because he chose to leave, most won’t care. Maybe the Conservative party can jump on and suggest that Calgary has to draft/ sign more good old Alberta boys for the locals to cheer for and will want to stay in Calgary.
