Sure but the decisions have to be made now. Plenty of Americans refuse to vax and the fact we're hearing of more possible shut downs does play a major factor.

sure....but at the end of the day, why should I assume Matthews will definitely leave Toronto like all the posters here who conflate certainty with wishful thinking?

I'll be happy if he bolts to Zona but I won't celebrate until it happens

The Canadian government and covid restrictions/border BS definitely comes in play for all players and agents

It created a major headache for athletes

I think it will depend on the next two years. If he wins a cup for the Leafs I can see him bolting. If he doesn't I can see him resigning.

It's actually nice being the Belle at the ball for a change. They just signaled to other teams that they won't be signing any extensions if they trade for him.

Just wait 2 years if the Jets are too greedy, see how serious he is about playing here. But yes, it is a nice change to see a young francophone star wanting to be here.
