Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

Will Tkachuk write a similar letter when he leaves? He can use all the pretty words explaining why he chose to leave, but because he chose to leave, most won’t care. Maybe the Conservative party can jump on and suggest that Calgary has to draft/ sign more good old Alberta boys for the locals to cheer for and will want to stay in Calgary.
Players have earned the ability to play elsewhere when they are soon to be UFA`s

Calgary fucked up not locking these guys sooner and more term

There is no way the team didnt know JG was going to bolt to the States

I’m not bitter or old. I’m just not naive like you.
You have no clue yet pretend you do, like a bitter old man.

Why would he go to the trouble of making a disingenuous letter for the small market Calgary? Not his problem, nothing to gain. Unless he's a narcissist doing if for his ego.

Calgary is run by a brain dead left wing nutjob, just like Montreal. I don't blame Tkachuk for wanting out.

Tkachuk leaving is 10x more calculating, he doesn't have to explain.

Who did he do it for then? What possible reason other than his own personal peace of mind?

This was checked over by a PR firm and his agent before being posted. I get what you're saying and that is the optic they're going for but this is all about Johnny feeling bad. Well that's nice Johnny, have a good cry.

Yes, this was obviously for Johnny to feel better about himself, since he left a very good team in Calgary for less money and for a much worse team in the middle of nowhere Ohio, really not that close to home base in South Jersey. Anyone who actually believes that he or his wife are going to drive 8 hours to get home is delusional. You can fly from Calgary to Philly almost as easily as from Columbus, Ohio.

Well, if it troubles his peace of mind, that means he do care doesn't it.

I do believe what he's saying, it makes sense. I don't think automatically assuming the worst in people is an healthy way to live. From everything I've seen of Gaudreau, he seems like a decent guy, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.
