Welcome to the Montreal Canadiens, David Reinbacher

I am not necessarily talking about this place. But this fanbase has more drama queens than any other. The reaction to the pick is like the Price pick in 2005....because they didn't pick Gilbert Brule. Bunch of animals. Yes they went for the safer pick but they also have boom or bust D...

    Training Camp 2022

This is team is finally above average at center after almost 30 years -- Suzuki - Dach - Dvorak - Evans - Monahan --- With Beck & Mesar knocking on the door. They will have a chance to draft another one this coming draft. Problem is that the D and G positions have cratered and are well below...

    Habs acquire Sean Monahan

Monahan is another Gallagher waiting to happen on any contract longer than 2 years. But if one can get him for two years given uncertainty and flat cap, then do it.

    Habs acquire Sean Monahan

If he is worth a 1st in March might as well keep him and sig him to a short term deal. His profile is exactly what we would be looking for in a player with the current group.

    Habs acquire Sean Monahan

If anything Monahan is also now a winger. He should be on Dach and Anderson's if healthy

    Habs acquire Sean Monahan

So we will have even more assets to move at the deadline and end up with like $1 BILLION in cap space in June 2023. EXCELLENT. Monahan being flipped for a 3rd is more likely than him coming back to form. He was never a good centre. If he rebounds it will be as a winger.

    PLD Watch

Our cap situation will be great seight months from now. $17 million in Byron, Dandonov, Droun, Allen and probably Armia and Hoffman gone at the deadline. That's $25 million.

    Rumors: 2024-25 Season

Some six months ago I said Hubie would come home. Habsy was all over me because his sister apparently sang the anthem at a Panthers home game. ;) Anyways this rebuild is not lasting long. Next year is another chance to add a great prospect. After that, they will reload.

Jeff Petry & Ryan Poehling to Pittsburgh for Michael Matheson & 2023 4th

Wtf, I like the deal for us.. Matheson has recovered his game the last two years in Pittsburgh, even better than his first couple of years in Florida. Left handed Petry as someone said.

Habs Season Thread: 2024-25 Regular Season

I am surprised at the lack of any movement seven weeks after the end of season. It took 5 weeks to confirm the coach and Chris Wideman. This leads me to believe that we have some AHL players (still playing) which are part of discussions.

Habs Season Thread: 2024-25 Regular Season

With Marty signed, the Weber and Petry trades are incoming. Hopefully we can acquire some bodies and avoid signing anyone of consequence in FA. We will have $12 million worth of expiring contracts next year (Byron, Allen, Drouin). All this with a top pick and gobs of cap space means quick...

There is no more parity. The Eastern conf playoff race was wrapped up by Halloween.

    MSL signed for 3 years

The roster isn't bad but they are constructed all wrong. Unfortunately for them, any semblance of rebound by Gally, Armia, Hoffman and we are out of the bottom 8. Which would honestly suck.

Figured it out . Primeau is not eligible for waivers until 23-24. So he can play in the A next year unhindered.

How do we keep him off waivers next year? He still need another year in the AHL. He has played less than 75 games there since starting. If they win another round he will get claimed by someone (Arizona needs a goalie).

    Shane Wright

It's the same shit every year. They old Ryder,, Halak, 2nd pick type of offers. But I agree with Krusty no way in hell they move it with the draft in Mtl. If they see Cooley and Wright as equivalents, then all bets are off. NJ is taking Slaf no matter what. Weber + Wright for Chychrun and...
